American Bank considers itself a "nationwide" community bank that serves its customers throughout the country from their headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The e-Checking account is one of the bank's most attractive accounts. It provides high yields on balances of $10,000 and less.

American Bank's most notable offer is the American e-Checking account which offers high rates on balances up to $9,999, and lower (but still pretty good) rates on balances over $10,000.
One important feature of this account is that depositors get up to $6.00 in ATM rebates per statement cycle. That allows customers to use any ATM anywhere in the United States.
There is a maintenance fee with the e-Checking account. If the average daily balance falls below $1,000 for the statement cycle, a maintenance service charge of $5.00 will be assessed.
Other features that are included with the e-Checking account are free first order of 50 checks, free unlimited online bill payment, free ATM or VisaŽ Check Card, and unlimited Check-writing privileges.
A $100 minimum deposit is required to open the e-Checking account.
