Strongly recommend against.

Double transferred the money I was transferring in from another account. Caused the other account to be overdrawn.

I called and was "promised" that they would wire the money back the next day to the other account. That was three days ago.

Joined specifically for the apy. But seems like i'll end up losing the money I would have made, due to overdraft fees.

Rates are nice. Easy to transfer from other banks and pay bills without paying fees. Have been with them for about 4 years. They used to provide stamped envelpoes for deposits, now just address labels. Still like the service and plan on staying with them for a while.

Yeah looks like you are with HSBC for 5 yrs too, you must have a bunch of savings accounts. Good on you.

Yep, this is a nice increase at a time when people might have been considering a move to say HSBC. I'll stick around for a little while. I personally have had no issues with Etrade.

I like this company very much. I never had a problem with my transfer, however I am kind of wishing I stayed with HSBC where I came from. At that time Etrade had a nice APY. The way I see it banks will change this from time to time and once you transfer money the bank you left will once again have a solid return. E*trade has been good to me so I will stick it out a little longer.

You're right. How did you know about the rate drop? Did they send an email?

I'll answer my own post. Looks like the rate is dropping to 3.45% in the morning.

Even at the current 4.10%, they're better than most. It'll be interesting to see how long they can maintain it.

Here's a company that offers and heavily advertises when they have competitive rates (5.05% last week). Then they drop the yield preciptiously to 4.4%. Not the best record. Fortunately getting money OUT if there is just an easy click away.

Very easy to put money in very hard to get it back. Customer service is totally inapt. Lapses in security.

Applied for CD on Monday, account verified on Tuesday, ACHed on Wednesday. Fast service! Accounts page looks very busy to me, too much stuff!

Good fast customer service. When I close a CD, I can do it by phone or online. 24h response online. Best online website. Not the best rates but still good. ACH blazing fast!
