The Grand Yield Savings Direct account opened for business with a rate of 5.00% annual percentage yield and failed to make a splash equal to those made by Emigrant Direct or E-LOAN. Since its opening, yields have crept up to 5.27% apy but dropped over time to it's current yield below 3.00% apy.
This account started as a "no-minimum" online savings account, but now requires a minimum deposit of $2,500 to open. The personal checking account that you use to make your initial ACH deposit can be linked to your Grand Yield Direct account for easy transfers in and out of the account.
