We've been fairly happy with this account in our 2 years with HSBC. The interest rate keeps dropping, it's still .85% but better than a lot of other banks. I would suggest looking around but HSBC works well and their website is decent.

HSBC provides on-line banking services to Bonton Stores (Boston Stores, etc.). This is the 2nd worst on-line system I've ever encountered (yes, there one that is worse - it is Macy's. I recently went to pay my bill (I don't know why I keep trying to pay it on-line, I've not been successful yet). I got a message that my "account is being re-evaluated". No explanation of what that meant - but it did say to call technical support. I called technical support, entered my account number. last 4 of the SSAN and got a live rep. The rep, of course, couls not help me and transferred me to Web Support, which just took me back to the original first message on the automated answer tree. I reentered all the numbers and my call was immediately dropped. Guess with HSBC it is just better to go through the time and expense (to both me and Bonton) to pay in person.
