I opened a few savings accounts with ING back in 2002. They were offering the very best rates at the time. Unfortunately, they've dropped way down on the list since then.
I've never has a single issue with ING. The website is simple, efficient and secure. Customer service is good. The only reason I'm closing my accounts is the low APY. If I can get 4% elsewhere why settle for 3.3%?
I think banks are known to do this - advertise killer rates to bring in the cash and then after awhile they cut them. I think they hope most people are too lazy to move their money.

I tried sending another
message which has not
been accepted.
My problem is that the
review for ING was
blackened out and could
not be read. I contaced
my WEBTV server and they
do not know why. The
service person was able
to access the review.

Is ING Direct sponsoring this site :)??? I have SalemFiveDirect paying 4.70% from $0-$9,999 all the way up to 5.10% with $100,000 to $999,999. Besides, it also rebates up to $15 for using non-SalemFive ATM. ING Direct rebates $0.
Other than those, both offer no minimum, no monthly fee, free online payment, etc... so who do you think is better?

I can't think of any reason why you would want to keep your money here. There are many other choices with good service that pay muvh higher rates.

Could someone comment about there paper checks? I read only one comment that ING's paper checks look not so real, almost fake like a mailer discount promo!

i like the checking account. wide access to free atms. instant transfer of money from their savings to checking account. love their website. customer service has always been good.
having said all that, i transfered most of my money out of ING to amboy direct to get a higher apy.

Great website. Provides daily day to day interest earnings. Quick tranfer. As a pioneer of eSavings, the only negative is their low APY.

ING Direct gets one of the highest user satisfaction ratings despite not having the highest rates. Reasons are ING's easy-to-use online banking system and helpful customer service. I haven't heard any complaints over the checking account as of yet.
