I recently opened an OnBank account. Very easy. Competitive rate. Quick ACH transfer (1 day). Maybe a winner.

I just opened an OnBank account right now. It was a very quick, and simple process. Right after I opened the account, it sent me to create an online username and password. Very Fast. I haven't seen the funds transferred yet. I'm waiting on that.

Make sure that you read the disclosure for opening an online savings account with OnBank.
The annual percentage yield is a hypothetical rate that assumes that the interest rate will not change although, in
fact, the interest rate may change daily after the date shown
above.

FEES:
1. $10.00 excess withdrawal fee for each withdrawal (including
any transfer), except for the first 4 withdrawals, charged
against the account during any statement period. The
$10.00 excess withdrawal fee is in addition to any fee for an
electronic fund transfer made by using a service we make
available, including any Internet service.
2. $30 for each order to stop payment of an electronic funds
transfer
3. $5 for each monthly statement provided in paper form
4. $5 for each photocopy of an account record
5. $100 per hour account reconciliation/research fee
6. $110 for each tax levy, restraint, subpoena, garnishment or
other legal process against the account
7. $10 if the account is closed within 90 days of the date it was
opened

You can make up to a total of 6 of these transfers and
withdrawals during any calendar month but no more than 3 of
these 6 transfers and withdrawals can be by ACH debits to your
account that you authorize a third party to make.

The APYs at all banks are hypothetical and can change at anytime.

The fees don't seem out of line with what other banks charge although the $10 fee for withdrawals over 4 seems a bit unnecessary since the norm is 6.

I was wondering...

1. The fees for transfers, thats only if you go over 4 in one month then?

2. Can you make it so you dont get a paper statement so you dont have to be charged a fee?

3. And whats the $10 exess withdrawal fee?

I'm new to high intrest savings accounts, and I just want to make sure im putting my money in the correct location for maximum efficiency.

I've been with OnBank since May and have been satisfied with them. The rate was 3.50% when I opened; and with the exception of this week's up .25%/down .15%, the rate has remained constant....and not just an "introductory" rate that a few online accounts use to attract business.

The excess withdrawal fee is when you exceed 4 withdrawals (incl. transfers) in a statement cycle.

Yes, you can get an electronic statement and avoid the statement fee.
