I’ve experienced extreme difficulty attempting to opening a savings account at CFSB.
After hitting the Submit button, the response “The data submitted failed our pre-application criteria”. Yet there no specific reason is given why the rejection occurred; only vague possibilities are cited. By phone, the CFSB Customer Service Rep says she cannot help me, only suggest that I keep trying the entry forms…
I’ve checked with the Equifax people to make sure there is not an issue on my credit report, (security freeze, etc). I’ve also re-entered the CSFB form data several times. All to no avail. It seems ridiculous to re-enter the data, without any true indication of where the problem could be.
It is sad that the system has become so complicated in the name of Security, that not even the bank officials seem to understand what the problem is or be able to lend any guidance. They have just lost a customer.

The Colorado Federal Savings Bank is terrible. They never send you notice or confirmation email or mail. Nothing from them! But they charge all kinds of hidden fees at the end. There are many hidden fees!!! Don't only look at the rate. They will charge you extra fees at the end. They won't tell you till you move your money out of their bank!

This bank is terrible. Don't waste your time with them.
Their on-line system is really outdated and not intuitive at all. Their online help is worthless. Talking to customer service is a waste of time. If you close your originally linked account they waste your time with signing forms that must be verified by your old bank and new bank. They refuse to close your account and send you a check for your balance to the address on record with a signed request.
They do not follow any of the industry standards. Their process is completely random. Use your time for something worth your while, dealing with this company is not it.

Tried to change linked checking accounts after I moved, and it's like pulling nails. They demand proof that the old checking account is closed before they will link a different one.

I posted the "unacceptable" review below and wanted to soften my remarks a bit. The bottom line is you need to phone Colo Fed when you have issues/questions. The good news is that friendly people answer the phone and they can sort things out for you. Sorry for the previous harsh words, although it should have been possible to reactivate with a "secret question" as usually happens with similar sites.

I hadn't logged into my online account in a while and then tried and I was refused access due to inactivity. I wasn't prompted with my secret question or given any other route to regain access. I went to their contact us page and filled out their email form but the submittal failed multiple times. No other means of contacting them was given. This is outrageously poor online service.

Bad posts only? This Bank ROCKS- I have my life savings in it, LARGE CD's @ 2% also- I have NOTHING bad to say about this bank. ITS A SAVINGS, if you want to open a checking account, then do that. dont access often and your good!- 6 transactions a month and min bal- I say "PERFECT"! get the small people that are not sure about saving at this capasity and go to a big bank!- I live in NH and have and unkle in CO- Its real and yes there is one branch- and i feel blessed that they bother to deal with online savings- because know one is beating their rates.....so let em be. PS To whoever wrote that they dont acept mail (this is very untrue) but the reason we get great rates is because they dont need to hire someone to open a letter, when you can fax or email.....online this bank is WONDERFUL- My mattress was what i used before and now im mkeing money.........AND THEIR PEOPLE ARE SO NICE!

I opened an online savings account with them, with the minimum opening deposit of $2500. Later, when my balance fell to a low level, they just closed the account and pocketed the balance, including interest accrued but not yet paid. There was nothing in the rules about maintaining the $2500 minimum; you just needed it to open the account. When I contacted their customer service they were extremely nasty about it, and on my request sent me a copy of the rules (which I already had) with an irrelevant provision circled as though they thought I was too stupid to understand English. I didn't pursue this because it was a fairly small sum that they stole, but I have a large CD with them that I opened at the same time and can't wait to snatch it out of there on maturity. I do not (knowingly) do business with thieves.

They do not accept mail and you can only link one other account to their account. Their web interface is difficult. I would not choose this bank if I knew then what I know now.

Another one that doesn't qualify for me to do business with them. Look for "no minimums and no fees" or pass them by.

Their web interface for making transfers is strange -- you can only schedule one one-time transfer at a time.
I like to schedule multiple transfers in advance, corresponding with dates when bills will autopay from my checking account.

So far the experience has been acceptable. It takes a little longer to get the CD opened because they do test deposits before transferring the money to open the CD. However, they set the CD rate on the business day that they begin to process your application. I've opened two at the 2.00% APY -- it's a real bank with real people on the other side of the web page.

It takes 10 days to get a CD... the interest rate will change before they give you the CD
