I had no problems funding the account or moving money into and out of it. It takes a few days, but at least I can do it with them. After 3 months, the teaser rate went away. I've been looking to put money in other online accounts, but have found few that I can do totally online. Also, I had no problem opening a CD with them (got a great rate before market fell). However, I couldn't fund the CD from my eloan savings. Had to move money from savings to outside account, then transfer it back into to the CD.

I don't see any new comments on this bank. They have a very attractive rate right now. There must be someone out there that can tell us something. I am in E*trade right now but am considering a move if they don't get competitive again. 3.15 isn't cutting it for me.

The rate was not a promotional rate. They are always above market. When the Fed cuts rates, so do the banks. Why would they pay us 5% when they can borrow it for less than 3%? If you wanted it locked you should have gone with a CD.

Transferred $10,000 out of my account on April 9, 07. It was in my local credit union on April 10, 07.

Many, if not most on-line banks don't use paper statements. I've been with E-Loan for several months now and the only "problems" have been self-inflicted, such as being locked out after "playing" with my password. Their five business day hold on the availability of new funds is annoying, but interest accrues from the date received. That's not significantly different than for other on-line banks. I've spoken with customer service on two occasions and always found them friendly, competent, and helpful. My only gripe is that customer service is not available 24/7.

Only E-Statement, no paper. Very slow transfer. On transfer, they only email that it was transferring and don't say how much. Every month I calculated the interest payment and I got less than 5%; I was suppose to get 5.38%.
You can only transfer to one bank. Eversince I opened up with Eloan, I've had bad feelings about this bank. You find out for yourself. :)

OK, so the yield fell, it's still very good.

Unfortunately the rate didn't last long, maybe 3 months since product launch? In reality it was a promotional rate and E-loan should have had the honesty to tell investors upfront.

Good rate BUT watch our for the contradiction on when interest is paid. Terms and conditions state "monthly" but it's actually paid on an "anniversary month", from the date of first deposit.

Their web site is low on features, but this is a great rate. Hope it lasts.

This yield is better than many fixed-rate cds. Since its a new account, its not known if e-loan will keep this rate competitive or if this is just an attention getter.
