On Friday, August 19, 2011, Lydian Private Bank, Palm Beach, FL, including its division Virtual Bank, was closed by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Subsequently, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named Receiver. All deposit accounts have been transferred to Sabadell United Bank.

Been with Virtual Bank for many years. eMM rates among the highest - sure, you can change banks every month chasing an extra tenth of a point, but Virtual Bank has always been near the top, and much better than most. The transfer to Sabadell has been completely transparent - the Virtual Bank website is still the same, except for the small print that used to say Lydian now says Sabadell. I'll remain a customer unless they give me reason to leave.

I just called Virtual Bank and asked why their interest rates continue to go in the toilet. I was told that if I were unhappy, I could move my accounts somewhere else. This person needs to be fired IMMEDIATELY! Last month I was told that they were NEVER going to be in the top 10 banks again. It sounds like they really want my money.
